Claypool Primary School

Bolton Wanderers Community Trust is actively involved in the development and promotion of football at our school. Staff organise out of school activities in a friendly and safe environment. All levels of ability and ages are catered for and I am very impressed by the commitment and reliability of the staff who have organised these sessions. The staff have further been involved in the promotion of the school in the FA Premier League Creating Chances football tournament and I would happily recommend them to any school who wishes to further football as part of Out of Hours Learning provision.

BWFC School of Football at SMSB 10th May – 24th May 2010.
Bolton Wanderers School of Football delivered a very popular and successful football course at St Mary’s and St Benedict’s RC Primary School, Bamber Bridge, Preston. The course limit was originally 32; however this was extended by the BWFC School of Football on request of the school as 47 children wanted to take part. The School of Football immediately arranged for an extra coach so all 47 could join the course.
The children of ages 5-11 years took part in a range of football skills which included: dribbling, shooting, passing, team work and games. All the children were made to feel valued whatever their football level and activities were differentiated to match the needs of the children.
The coaches were exemplary in their professional manner and their passion for football was shared and promoted with the children. Many parents commented about the club: ‘the coaches oozed high quality’, ‘my son loved the course and being made to feel part of a team’, ‘both my daughters took part in the football course and now have been teaching their mum some football skills’, ‘a professional company who got the very best out of the children, I hope they come back to SMSB’.
SMSB would welcome BWFC School of Football back anytime.

First Steps Football
My son attends the First Steps Football coaching delivered by BWFC School of Football Coaches. The club is open to boys and girls of ages 3-4 years old.
The coaches welcome the young boys and girls into the world of football using games, introducing simple football skills and through fun. The sessions last one hour and every second is value for money. The children are allowed to have a kick around with their parents when they arrive then the coaches take the lead. Each session is different which adds to the excitement. Coaches are quick to make the children feel valued and work professionally to gain the very best from each child whatever their level.
The coaches encourage and support learning to a very high level - no child is every left out and they always promote team work and good attitudes to each other.
My son asks every day, ‘Is it Friday yet so I can go to football’. He thinks the coaches are ‘cool dudes’ and is making very good progress in football.
Excellent and enjoyment is First Steps Football thanks to the BWFC School of Football Coaches.

FOOTBALL FOR EVERYONE
The link between Canon Slade and the Bolton Wanderers Community Trust has been strengthened over the last few months as the school has become one of the centres for the BWCT programme. Under the watchful eye of Steve Obertelli, a former pupil of the school and a member of the 1st XI football team, the school has invited him to use the school’s sports facilities, including the full size floodlight astroturf, for delivery of the BWCT football programme to all ages and to both boys and girls. Over the last few months courses have been run at the school and the number of children attending from the local community has been good.
The BWCT also come in to help deliver football to the Year 10 and 11 girls who have the opportunity of participating in football as part of their National Curriculum studies and also undertake the Junior Football Organisers Course award taken as part of their course. Pupils enjoy learning the skills of the game and then putting what they have learnt into practice by playing small sided games. Further opportunities are forthcoming as the school develops links with local Primary School children and puts into practice the knowledge gained by those on the JFO course.
The professionalism shown by those from BWCT and the delivery of the lessons are there for all to see and it is hoped that the link between the school and the Trust will continue for many years to come.

Summer 2010

I would sincerely like to thank Bolton Wanderers Community Trust for their programme which they delivered during the Summer Holidays. As many parents may understand, the summer break can be a real struggle to keep the kids entertained. Here at Kidzone we had nine whole weeks to fill with many different varieties of activities for the children’s entertainment. We contacted Bolton Wanderers to enquire about the possibility of them providing two afternoons of training for our children who cover the vast age bracket of 4-13yrs old. Our enquiry was dealt with very promptly with a representative visiting us prior to the sessions to talk through the plans for the sessions and to check that the areas were suitable.
I am very impressed with the level of dedication and reliability of the staff who both organised and provided the training for the children. The children were very happy and thoroughly enjoyed these sessions. As an observer I could see that the skills and ability of all of the children were catered for throughout.
We were extremely grateful to be able to welcome both Bolton Wanderers Community Trust and the legend that is Lofty the Lion into our club and are looking for an even more successful reunion next summer.

February Half Term 2011

“Just a quick line to thank you and your staff for, what came across via my son, Charlie Sweeney, as an extremely well run and enjoyable experience at the ‘School of Football’ soccer school run at Canon Slade during February half term week.
This was his first experience of half term activities without any of his friends with him, so we were a little apprehensive beforehand. However we needn't have been, as he loved each and every day!

Learning with Lofty Pilot at Brownlow Fold Primary School - October 2011
I would like say a huge thank you to Mr Obertelli and Lofty for providing our children with such and enjoyable and engaging learning experience. The children thoroughly enjoyed the mixture of numeracy and sporting activities delivered during the programme.
All the numeracy sessions were very well planned and delivered with confidence. Mr Obertelli's professional and positive approach was greatly appreciated by myself, other members of staff and most importantly the children. I would highly reccommend the programme to other schools and look forward to welcoming Mr Obertelli, and of course Lofty, back to Brownlow Fold School in the future.
