 Junior Football Organiser

Kickz is currently delivering its second Junior Football Organiser (JFO) of the year course to participants.
Delivered by BWCT School of Football's Steve Obertelli The JFO is the first rung on the coaching ladder. The young people must attend six hour long sessions, where they will look at various aspects of coaching and by the end of the course will be able to
Plan and deliver a safe session.
          Identify football skills.
          Lead basic skills practice.
Progress basic skills practice into a mini-soccer game.
Use resources to support and aid your sessions.
Introduce relevant/appropriate rules within a session.
Identify ways to provide opportunities for children to play football at school and in the community.
To be able to organise a football festival or a mini-tournament.
Be aware of child protection and safety issues.
Once the young people have completed the qualification they will then put their knowledge to use by assisting the coaches at the sessions. This will hopefully lead them on to take their FA Level 1 coaching badge when they are old enough.
The first session included, what the course covers and what they will be able to do when they have passed the course, the coaching qualification ladder and how it works, positive and negative experiences of sports activities, the importance of a warm up to children prior to playing football, and the qualities they expect a coach to have. The young people split into smaller groups and talked through their thoughts before sharing them with the whole group.
The course is free of charge to the young people and they are selected on behaviour and attendance levels.
