Positive Chances

Positive Chances is a community based sport and education project being delivered by Bolton Wanderers Community Trust across Bolton and its surrounding boroughs.
The project is funded for three years through the BIG Lottery Fund and aims to develop opportunities for young people in the care system by increasing the amount of physical activity available to them and raising their awareness of health, fitness and nutrition through grouped multi sport sessions and individual specialist work.
Positive Chances project is also directed towards educational engagement and achievement and a Study Support programme aims to increase academic attainment and link in to existing accredited national schemes such as The Duke of Edinburgh Award to ensure continued learning and a chance to gain qualifications to help towards their future prospects.
There will also be activities based around team and trust building available to carers and families to form and strengthen supporting relationships with a view to increase stable placements.
Positive Chances project will help to tackle and combat the issues young people face in everyday life by providing them with positive chances in education and across a wide range of sports as well as being encouraged, supported and challenged to be the best that they can be.
