Gr8er Goals is a new initiative launched by Bolton Wanderers Community Trust which is being funded by the Premier League Charitable Fund for the next 3 years.
The project was officially launched on Sunday 21st October 2012. To read more on the launch and other news stories relating to Gr8er Goals please click here.
The aim of the project is to rejuvenate Heywood Park as a safe place to visit at all times, with positive activities for local residents aged 12 to 30. The project will use the power of Football and BWFC as a vehicle, delivering daytime and evening Football sessions. Coaching sessions for other sports will also be taking place including Boxing and Basketball. To find out exactly what’s on please click here.
Gr8er Goals will not only deliver Coaching sessions but will also give participants the opportunity to learn how to Coach by delivering the FA Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football as well as the Young Sports Leaders Award and other relevant qualifications/ awards such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award. From this the aim is to then establish a volunteer programme so young people will be able to give back to their local community.
