On Sunday the 26th June Ghosia Judo club’s youngest members took part in the organised British Judo Competition ‘mini mons’ which is a red belt rumble for young people aged between 8 and 15yrs.

The young cub members have experienced much competition in the past but have never been out of Bolton to represent their club.  This was the first big competition experience for the regular club members who have trained extremely hard over the past 4 months.

Mohammed Dasu was the first competitor to receive a well eared Gold medal, followed by his brother Faheem Dasu who received a silver medal along with Abdul Setti and Adnaan Patel, while the following competitors received Bronze medals: Usamah Patel, Damyaal Adat, Suleman Jiva and Awail Aqbal.

Lead coaches at the Ghosia Judo Club, Kerry Finney (British Judo Technical Officer) and Paul Tansey were thrilled to see how well the young judo competitors performed. Kerry firmly believes there is some great talent being developed at the club and is happy to be a part of it.

Premier League 4 Sport has been a great talent developer and this story goes to show how we have developed young people in to great athletes for the future.
