Bolton Wanderers Disability Football Club is pleased to announce that the Captain of the Open Age team for the 2011-2012 season is stalwart defender Danny Turtington. Danny aka Wiggers is a committed player who during last season rarely missed a training session. Danny got the nickname Wiggers after then Bolton Wanderers FC First Team Coach Steve Wigley as Danny offered to take the warm ups at training and get the squad ready for the coaching session with Manager Steve Obertelli and Assistant Manager Ben Lawton.
Manager Steve Obertelli said "Danny will be great as captain, he showed good leadership skills last season and is very committed to playing his part in making BWDFC a success. He helps other players with less ability than himself, making sure everybody enjoys training and it also helps he is a huge BWFC fan. I have no doubt that Danny's conduct as Captain will be exemplary."
