Over the October Half Term Positive Chances invited 6 Young People to participate in a week long bikeability course at the Reebok Stadium.

During the course the Young people would work towards their Level 1 & 2 cycle training certificates. The group would start with their Level1, this needed to be completed before starting Level 2. Level 1 took place on the Reebok car park away from cars and traffic.
During Level 1 the group would learn to control and master their bikes. The Young People would gain basic cycle control skills which included:-
· Safety
· Starting and Pedalling
· Stopping
· Manoeuvring
· Signalling
· Using the gears
With Level 1 completed the group moved on to Level 2 which took place on the roads. Level 2 gave the Young People a real cycling experience utilising the skills they learnt in Level 1.
The young people worked really hard to complete and pass their training, so as promise it was time for a Tour of the Reebok stadium where the group was in for a surprise, while outside the stadium the young people bumped into manger Owen Coyle who was happy to have pictures taken with the group. We continued the tour around the stadium where we stopped to watch the 1st team train hard for the up and coming premier league fixture, this was a good opportunity for the young people to see and watch their heroes. With the tour finished the group went home happy.
Well done and make sure when out on your bikes be safe.
